The 10 Commandments of Contemporary Art Making
Every decision we make is dictated by rules: rules created by governments, religion, morality, and society. We share this mentality that the art world is a space of true freedom of expression, but that is undeniably false. We modify our concepts to bend to the whims of society, we shy away from taboos out of the fear of offending, and we fear the opinions of the wealth and the gallerists. Whether these sentiments are conscious or subconscious, they should be acknowledged, and discussed. I created this piece for the individual to confront, and to address the 10 Commandments of Contemporary Art.
